The Great Satellite Search! (Grade 9 IRP match)
In the Satellite Presentation Project, the students will be asked to find information on the Internet and make a presentation to the class on a satellite. This lesson plan is designed to teach the students how to use the computer and the Internet to research, organize, and present information. By requiring the students to work in teams, they will be developing their cooperative learning skills. The lesson plan is design to be incorporated into other topics such as technology, space exploration, electronic communication, and computers. 

National Geographic
A well designed site with a wealth of information. Students get to do real scientific work and contribute to the the advancement of scientific knowledge.

Journey North
A global study of wildlife migration. Students participate in science as observers and data collectors. Classes sign-up to watch for signs of spring. The sightings begin each year on February 2 and continue until June 1 with hundreds of classrooms from around North America participating.
